Portland Cement Type 42.5
This type of cement is produced according to the requirements of ISIRI Standards No . 389,USA
Standard / ASTM-C150 with chemical and physical properties similar to those of 32.5 cement
but a higher heat of hydration , more rapid setting time as well as higher rate of initial and final
resistance than 32.5 type
Portland cement 42.5 is used in all reinforced and non-reinforced concrete structures where , as
compared to 32.5 type , early strength including columns , ceilings , bridge abutments and
Structures requiring rapid molding are required and , also , it may be used in cold weather too
Due to ahigher heat of hydration it is recommended to control the application of this cement and
solely use it in places with low disruptive effects of sulfate attack on concrete .
